Balayage

Balayage literally means to sweep. Balayage creates a soft swept natural result that requires lower maintenance with less salon visits depending on the look you are going for. This will take time and patience for the Balayage. We may need to correct past Balayage or hair painting experiences that left us not looking as picturesque as our Instagram inspiration photo. The transition period is much easier to embrace when both client and stylist are on the same page and you are both working towards your end goal. During the consultation it’s best to have a dialogue on how realistic your expectation is and whether or not it is achievable in one salon session. It may be necessary to have a series of sessions with a breakdown of services entailed and cost. This will ensure the integrity of your hair and give you a realistic idea of all involved with your long term goal depending on your circumstances your stylist can come up with a game plan and timeline to get you that flawless Balayage picture you find yourself constantly being drawn to. What is a Keratin Treatment and is it right for me?

Do I want a keratin treatment? What is a Keratin? Keratin is a natural protein found in your hair.

The keratin treatments are advanced, in-salon treatments that restore and restructure the hair by infusing a special blend of hydrolyzed keratin deep into the cuticle. The hydrolyzed keratin is bonded to the cuticle with heat from a flat iron to relax the hair’s subcuticle layer, resulting in renewed smoothness and shine.

Living in Tampabay, Florida where it is hot and humid our hair can be naturally frizzy and unmanageable. The hair will be more manageable and easy to style, and will be resistant to humidity. It will feel noticeably softer and silkier, with added life, shine and vibrance. Blow drying times will be greatly reduced. A great time to have the treatment done is directly after permanent color, semi-permanent color or highlights. The treatment seals the color in, making it last longer and appear more vibrant. If you choose to have color applied after the treatment, we recommend waiting at least two weeks. If you already have Aveda’s Brilliant, Color Conserve, or Shampure shampoo and conditioner at home these are fine for your keratin treatment after care as well. No drugstore products! As these are damaging for your hair and your keratin treatment as they will cause the cuticle of your hair to open and release the keratin treatment.

Keratin Express Treatment $125 this treatment is applied to wet hair with a 30 minute processing time. It gives you the ability to wash your hair after eight hours. This treatment last 6 to 8 weeks with proper home care and depending on lifestyle choices results can be seen up to 12 weeks!

Full Keratin Smoothing Treatment $250 this treatment is applied to dry hair after a keratin clarifying shampoo which will help to change the pH of your hair leaving the cuticle exposed for ultimate deposit of the keratin treatment. Some Tips to help you decide if a Fashion Color is Right for you..

Here are some tips to make this process successful.

*This will usually take Multiple processes. We will need to make your hair light enough to give you the color you want. If your end result is to be a lavender, we can start with a purple.

*Each step or process will take time and money. Have a consultation with your stylist and let them know what you are comfortable with and they can customize something for your needs.

*Fashion colors do not open the cuticle of your hair and permanently change the pigment of your hair. They only stain it. This means you need quality Aveda take home products to give you healthy hair. Damaged hair is hard to color. You want to make sure you protect your investment.

*Follow the instructions the stylist recommends. Fashion colors only last 4-8 weeks. Keep your follow up appointments. The more your fashion color is layered on the longer it lasts.
